About JFlyThe Man
Jorel "JFly" Flynn was born and raised in Waycross, GA. At an early age, while observing his arduous community, JFly turned to music and began learning and studying the drums. With the guidance of his parents, JFly performed regularly in church which influenced his decision to become a professional drummer. As a graduate of Waycross High School in 1994, JFly relocated to Atlanta to pursue an Electronic Technology Degree. During his pursuit he received a call to tour with R&B singer, Kelly Price. This life changing opportunity catapulted his career and enabled him to play with many accomplished artists such as Cameo, Toni Braxton, Keith Sweat, K-Ci and JoJo, Phil Perry, and Jennifer Holliday just to name a few. JFly previously toured with "Heads of State" (featuring - Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and Ralph Tresvant), Peabo Bryson, New Edition and Cameo. He has also played at the 2011 Soul Train Music Awards held in Atlanta, and was the Music Director for the 2011 Heisman Trophy Awards.
JFly's talents have elevated him to television showcases such as BET's Sunday's Best, BETs Lyric Café, and the test drummer for QSC Audio; as well as cameo appearances in Tyler Perry's movies "A Family That Preys" and "I Can Do Bad All by Myself". He has gained recognition by some of the most popular international drum making companies which have yielded acclaimed endorsements by Tama Drums, Vater Drumsticks, Westone, DB Drum Shoes, and Evans Drumheads. JFly has embraced his musical successes and endeavors as a true blessing towards fulfilling his passion for mastering the drums, as well as impacting the lives of young music students across this nation. He has formed his nonprofit foundation "How Big Is Your Dream?!" which was established to help promote, educate, and develop young minds to excel and reach their dreams in music. "Yo Fly, you are a prime example to drummers like myself and other musicians to think out the box. You thought outside the box brah, you could've been just playing and traveling with artists and bands but you did your own thing. I can say plenty about what you're doing, with the kids foundation, and making a difference in the community. The kids need to see more young black men like your self to show them a civilized lifestyle. Brother I don't know you that well but I hear good things about you from some of my closest musician buddies. Hey J. keep it up man!!!”
"Again, thank you so much for your time and support in assisting with my youth.
